You are quoted as saying, “You can’t use muscles to make a voice, ”
In fact, physiologically, that is just how a voice is made. I think I understand what you’re saying, though: in writerly terms, finding or making one’s own voice or a character’s voice doesn’t come from muscles (repetition? forcing a tone or personality onto a character?). It comes from locating the right frequency, the right vibration and holding onto it in order to translate it into words and story. Am I making any sense at all?!?
